‘I have always found myself inspired by the unusual, the unconventional, the odd and the intriguing. My work showcases my meticulously drawn artwork, taken from all the wonderful and interesting things that interest and delight me, an eclectic mix of flora, fauna, antiques, anatomy and statuary, which in a bizarre and slightly surreal way, all connect together to form beautiful and unusually enchanting narrative scenes in the work. Combined with a mix of geometric and organic pattern and selective colour, my designs capture and radiate my love of the weird, the wonderful and the sometimes sinister.’

Adam Slade - Director

Formerly ‘Adam Slade Interior Textiles,’ at Swarm Design there have been more than but a few changes. A participant in the Crafts Council 2014 Hothouse program, a development course designed to offer support and business advice to emerging designer/makers, company director Adam Slade states that it was the fantastic mentoring and limitless support provided on the program by its facilitators, partners and fellow participants that armed him with the confidence and inspiration to completely rethink and rebrand the business.
With its distinctive edge and mysterious charm, Swarm Design offers a contemporary take on a Victorian aesthetic, aiming to diminish minimalist decorating and challenge what you think you want in your homes. Still synonymous with the signature darkly enchanting style of Adam Slade, Swarm Design will at the very least, make you look twice.
